(The scene opens up backstage of the WWE Franchise house show! The crowd is filling up they're seats in The Legendary Madison Square Garden and getting ready for the the action to start. It's about 9:05 pm on Monday and with only 24 hours removed from the final Raw before the Big Royal Rumble, excitement is emanating throughout the arena. The cameras in the brightly lit arena segway from the roaring crowds and the filled up rafters to the pitch black curtain the separates the real world from the WWE Universe. Behind such a curtain is the highly busy World Wrestling Entertainments staffers, ranging from the bright young development talent, to the mid carders, and all the way up to the leading WWE Franchise Superstars. Down the hall way is the camera focuses on the Three time World champion Edge hanging on in the Rated RKO private locker room. Edge is unraveling his sports tape from his wrists appearing to be done for the night after a squash match with a development rookie. We also see "The Viper" Randy Orton sitting down looking kinda out of place. The Rated R Superstar and the Viper look like they're focused.
Orton: The number thirty spot is gone Edge. What are we going to do now?
(The Rated R Superstar leans back resting on the couch as he pulls back his hair wiping sweat off of his face.)
Edge: Orton you of all people should know that that number means nothing really. All that means is that Shane has to go over last that's all.
Orton: Believe me I understand that Edge, however you and I both know it won't be that simple putting Shane Douglas over the top. I mean not only do we have to worry about that we've gotta face those Nexus clowns also...
(Edge stops Randy in the middle of his sentence by waving him off.)
Edge: Look, look, look. Nexus isn't something we need to worry about okay? Those chumps are more then likely a dump and bump. All you need to do is RKO one and I'll Spear the other and 1..2..3 they're down. What more could you want? There's nothing special that we have to do for them, they're facing a team of former World Champions come on. What's wrong with you?
Orton: You're right about that. I guess I didn't totally count on both of us losing last night on Raw. Also with Triple H being in the mix.
(Edge stands up and again stops Orton with a huge grin and another wave off while shaking his head.)
Edge: You're worried about the wrong things Randy. Nexus and Triple H won't even be a factor on the road to one of us once again becoming W.W.E. Champion. I know this much is true though Sunday night history will be made. Now if you'll excuse me I have a little interview I need to do. While I'm gone get yourself together man, last night was a minor bump in the road to immortality.
(Edge grabs his Crude, Lewd, and Tattooed shirt and throws it on the pulls back his hair. Edge walks over to Orton and both former WWE Champions dap each other with Edge still grinning seeming to have something on his mind. Last years King of The Ring throws the wrist tape in the trash can right by the door and walks to the outside hallway where you can hear clear a day the fans loving every single bump that's going on in the ring in the arena. Continuing down the hall getting further away from the crowds noise, Edge spots the lovely and always beautiful Maria Kanellis. They both greet with a hug and a hand shake and Maria turns to the camera to start recording.
Maria: Ladies and gentlemen of the World Wrestling Entertainment Franchise, I have a special treat for each and everyone of you. My guest tonight is needs no introduction but because he is who he is, he gets one. He is the first ever Four Time World Champion, one of my favorite superstars Edge!!!
(Edge steps into the view of the camera with his head high and the same grin from before still glued on from ear to ear.)
Maria: Edge how are you doing tonight?
Edge: I'm still buzzing from that totally awesome intro you just gave me...Actually I can't say awesome can I? The Miz has that trademarked and I don't wanna get sued by the same guy I left picking up his own teeth last week do I?
Maria: Uh...I don't know...
Edge: Of course not Maria. Anyway lets for get about me and let's get on the subject of you.
Maria: Me?
Edge: Yeah how are you doing? I see your looking gorgeous as always with the flaming red hair you got going on. (Edge looks directly into the camera.) Ladies and gentlemen did you know that this lady has a CD coming out? It's called Sevin..that's Sevin with a I not and e, Sins. When does it come out?
Maria: April 13th.
Edge: Can I ask you for something?
Maria: Sure go ahead.
Edge: Can you give us a taste of what's gonna be on this album?
Maria: Well um I would love to however, we're kinda in the middle of an interview Edge. (She say's laughing.)
Edge: Oh man! I totally forgot my bad Maria. Well we'll get you're album plugged yet. Now let's do this what's your first question?
Maria: You seem really at ease in a dire time first you lost the number thirty spot last night in a hard fought over the top rope challenge to Shane Douglas. How exactly do you have such a wide smile on knowing that Shane is number thirty and not you? Don't you think your advantage is gone now?
(Edge laughs and hangs his head low then looks back at Maria.)
Edge: I did lose last night didn't I? (Edge begins to tap on his chin with his index finger.) Riddle me this Maria how many people have come in at number thirty and won The Royal Rumble in The Franchise?
(Maria pauses and scratches her head.)
Maria: I don't know none I don't think.
Edge: Exactly Maria not even one. If you want to talk about advantages, all the favor belongs to the person who comes in at the later twenty's or even number twenty. So am I worried about number thirty...not at all.
Maria: But it's Shane Douglas who's coming out a man that you know is more then just an average superstar. How can you be so confident?
(Edge laughs some more and puts his hand on her shoulder.)
Edge: Maria, two count them not one but two of WWE's top superstars have entered at thirty only to fail minutes after. 2009 the fearsome Undertaker entered at 30 and was eliminated only to have myself and Dave Batista to be the last people in. I was number 26 and Dave was number three. Unfortunately he won but that just proves my point a little bit more. So lets fast forward to 2010, where Stacy Keibler won see she came in at number 27 and won eliminating Swagger who was number thirty and Mick Foley who entered at twenty-five. You see the odds are against number thirty which should be Shane Douglas this time. By the time he steps into the Rumble I'll already be turned up and ready to toss him over and become a four time WWE Champion the very first person I might add just like I was the first ever three time WWE Champion and as a whole become a five time World Champion. Man that feels good to say.
(Maria looks confused.)
Maria: Five times?
Edge: Yeah did you forget in my brief run in TNA I was the last World Champion? It's in the record books.
Maria: Oh yeah...so something else I want to ask you. Don't you think that all of the other Superstars have the same confidence, knowing what you stated? Don't you think that statistically by you stating those facts your competition will be harder in becoming champion again?
Edge: Statistically Maria The Rumble goes in my favor. None of these people have been champion more then me, most of them will choke and forget what to do just because they're not ready to be at the top. Look at it like this I have Undertaker backing me, I have Kane backing me, and I have Orton backing me, all we have to do is clear the ring and we're good.
Maria: But isn't that selfish to expect those three men to lay down their chance to become WWE Champion and head line Wrestlemania?
Edge: Oh I don't expect them to lay down their chance. I expect the to want to be champion just like me. I expect them to want to eliminate me and each other however...here's the thing, sweet cheeks, No one ever said that we can't work as a unit and e the last four standing in the ring. After that happens all bets are off and teams won't matter.
Maria: You are aware that right before the Rumble you'll be facing the Nexus which will comprise of Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel who seem to be on the side of Shane Douglas, which was almost made clear last night and. You don't think that after facing them that you'll be a little banged up making you less effective giving your rivalry with Nexus?
(Edge rubs his beard taking in some thoughts. He then starts to rub his chin and look at Maria as she looks on at him expecting his answer. Edge leans towards The fiery Red Head confused.)
Edge: Rivalry? What rivalry? With The Nexus?
Maria: Yes. I do recall you and Randy Orton fending off Nexus a few weeks ago.
(Edge looks as if a light switch was turned on in his head reminding him about a few weeks ago when Rated RKO aided CM Punk.)
Edge: Oh! Okay I gotcha now. Make no mistake Maria that wasn't the starting of a rivalry nor was that say " Rated RKO is ont WWE side." No I didn't mean any of that. What that meant was that Rated RKO is back and in full effect and whatever Nexus does, no matter who they align themselves with, they had better stay out of our way or they'll end up like Jackson Andrews and The Miz are right now. In the hospital eating food thorough a straw. As for Shane's involvement with them goes we'll just have to see when the time comes for because all will be revealed sooner then later on that.
Maria: But do you think he would align himself with them to take the WWE Championship and the whole WWE over?
Edge: One thing no one notices that me and Scott Hall figured out is that, there's two sides to Shane Douglas.
Maria: Two sides? Edge can you explain this?
Edge: Why sure. Side one is the side that most people see the collected wrestling machine that can is tough as nails and damn near impossible to knock of balance. The next which is seen a little bit less then number one is the Shane Douglas who has been knocked off balance who doesn't get what he want's. That Shane Douglas becomes focused then all of that focus he give to his target then becomes obsession. In this case the obsession CM Punk and The WWE Championship. Now normally if it was just one thing I would tell you hell no he would never stoop that low, but since it's both Punk and The WWE Championship, which he's never held mind you, I'm not too sure on if he would stoop this low to become champion. Then again we are talking about the main who aimed to kill off Tommy Dreamer for the better part of 2008 and 2009. So that remains to be seen Maria.
Maria: And you would know a lot about being obsessive over The Championship don't you?
(Edge looks at Maria like "Did she really just say that?" he then shakes if off and goes back to answer her.)
Edge: I must admit that when in the hunt for my WWE Championships I did tend to get a little bit crazed.
Maria: A little bit Edge? You kidnapped Stacy Keibler's friend Torrie Wilson
Edge: Okay...well maybe I get more a lot of a bit obsessive. But the fact of the matter is, is that Shane Douglas doesn't lack the capacity to have those rookies behind him. If we do find out it's him behind those guys I won't in the lest bit be surprised. If his aim is to take over WWE that's fine but if his aim is to have nexus help him take the WWE Championship then, Maria we have a problem. Until then though Nexus is Punk, Kane, and Undertaker's problem.
Maria: Speaking of Undertaker and Kane, it seems they have forged an alliance with your former lackey The new Intercontinental Champion Ted Dibiase. Will this play a role in the Royal Rumble match at all?
(Edge pauses and thinks for a moment.)
Edge: Wow Intercontinental Champion! Good for him I was wondering when he or Cody was going to do anything at all. Well at least Ted did something even if it's winning a title I dropped two years ago, but it's a start. Now I don't know anything about Undertaker and Kane joining up with Ted at all. The deal was for the four of us to align, we four are suppose to be the last four in the Rumble. Ted has no place in or around the final four. If he can make it there he'll do it all on his own because as far as I see it, it's only room for four us in that ring.
Maria: So when it comes down to just you four as you put it, how can you hope to over power The Deadman and Kane? Both men should be more focused then ever even with Undertaker being a former champion and Kane never holding it before. The you have your partner Randy Orton who hasn't probably want's it just as much as you do.
(Edge has a look on his face as if he is weighing thing around in his head thinking about the possibilities of the Rumble.)
Edge: I've beaten all three men before but it's easier to spear and pin Kane and Taker then it is to spear and toss them over the top ropes. Hmm this might just be a little difficult doing so. Maybe who knows I might already have a plan for that Maria. Maybe I might just have worked that battle strategy out already. Who knows I might just have to jump from the middle of the first and second rope and grab a chair to knock them out. Maybe A low blow might work on them. Maybe oh just maybe I have something in that bag for both of them...who knows? However as for Randy, he and I both know that the WWE Championship comes first, it comes before anything, the group and friendship. We both know it because out of everyone of these people in the Rumble we have done the most while champion. He is the very first WWE Franchise Champion, and I am the longest reigning World Champion in the history of the Franchise. Being World Champion is all that matters to me and has always been my ultimate goal so if Randy Orton has to be thrown over the ropes then for me to become champion then so be it.
Maria: Well I just have a few more questions and we'll wrap up here. I know I mentioned Ted Dibiase before but now I want to ask about your other former protege "Dashing" Cody Rhodes...
(Edge quickly interrupts her.)
Edge: Whoa, whoa, whoa, Dashing? That's what he calls himself now?
Maria: Yes.
Edge: Wow I thought he was a oily chimp. Wow if looking like him is what it takes to be called Dashing, I don't want to be anywhere near that. I'm sorry go ahead Maria.
Maria: Cody has vowed to personally eliminate you from the Rumble. He appears to be hooked on the fact that you tossed him last night. What are you thoughts?
Edge: He's upset and stay upset. You know why Maria?
Maria: Why?
Edge: Because I'm going to do it again. He may have a Intercontinental Championship match and that's all good I wish him all the best luck in that match. However when it's Rumble time all of that will go out the door. I'm gonna promise you and every person out there in the universe that he will not give my WWE Championship a make over, nor will he hold both titles at once. He'll catch another Spear I promise that for sure. It would be in Rhodes best interest to stay as far away from me as possible, or he might just end up like Miz.
Maria: Jackson Andrews seems to be back while we're on the subject of The Miz.
Edge: Oh really, that's interesting maybe Orton and I didn't finish the job. Maybe we should maybe we shouldn't, who knows.
Maria: Okay just one more thing and we're done. With the chance to Main Event Wrestlemania, and to be the very first person to have become WWE Champion four times, and a five time World Champion, how ready are you for this The Royal Rumble?
Edge: I am more ready then I've ever been, I haven't done one thing in my career and that's become win the Royal Rumble. So this Sunday the stakes are high, higher then they've ever been. I need this, I need to win this to knock the last goal in my book off, I need this to become WWE Franchise Undisputed Champion for a record fourth time! I need this more then ever. I dare anyone, anyone to get in my way. Look at my records, I broke my own partners ribs once to become Champion, just imagine what I'll do to 28 others in order for me to get back to the top where I belong. (Edge laughs a little bit.) I can hear them say it. Here is you winner of the 2011 Royal Rumble and NEW WWE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION THE RATED R SUPERSTAR, EDGE!!! Whatcha think Maria?
Maria: That sounds catchy. Well thank you Edge for your time.
Edge: Oh no problem. You know we should have lunch so you can give me a sample of that CD of yours.
Maria: Oh defiantly. I'll see you later.
(Edge and Maria hug and The Rated R Superstar exits out of the view of the camera.)
Maria: I wish Edge all the luck in this highly important WWE Championship, Royal Rumble match. Remember we go live on Pay Per View at 8 pm Eastern Standard time. This Maria Kanellis signing off.
