(The scene opens up to the inside of a rooms door, the door opens to show The WWE Champion Edge walking in sweating from a practice match he was having as a warm up for a independent show he's hosting in New York. Edge is having WWE cameras rolling to show the athletes of tomorrow. Anyway the Champion puts his title across the table and sits down and tries to get some sleep. A minute rolls by and the door opens, making his way into the room is a 5'10, 215 pound black man by the name of Brandon. Brandon looks like he's at least 21 or 22 years old he has a title over his shoulder which appears to be the ICWL title., he taps on Edge's shoulder.) Brandon: Hey Adam. Come on wake up man. (The WWE Champion bounces up waking up. He looks around as if he doesn't know here he is, but he quickly comes to.) Edge: Oh what's up man? Brandon: Well first off thanks for lessons, we gotta practice some more. Oh yeah freak we have a press conference to go to! Edge: For what? Brandon: You know the Restate of the Federation Address you know to promote your match with Velvet Sky and promote Wrestlemania. Your needed there in about a hour and a half. I thought you wouldn't forget that, I mean you called the conference. (Edge pulls a watch over off the table and looks at the time and notices that it's around 12:30 p.m..) Edge: Oh yeah no problem that will get addressed right now it's sleep time. You my friend are gifted wrestler. I'll make sure I put in a word with Vince when it's time for you to come up. Brandon: Hey man don't sweat that right now you'll be in town for another few days. You have to focus you possibly have two matches coming on Sunday at the Rumble. One for sure and Sky looks like she means business, Jericho on the other hand probably won't show up. Edge: True. But Velvet Sky (Edge points and waves his finger.) I need to address her. I can't believe what she said. Brandon: Is it that bad? Edge: I don't know it's still digging into my head. How the hell can she possibly say I haven't done a damn thing here. I mean look at my records. She actually questioned who I beat to become number one contender I can't.... Brandon: Hate to cut you off Champ but save that for the address we gotta get changing. You should know that. Edge: Yeah, well there's the bathroom over there you can change there. Brandon: Cool. (About thirty minutes go by and we see Brandon in a black Steve Harvey brand suit and Edge comes out in a suit too with shades on.) Brandon: Looking good Champ! Edge: Feels good. You don't look to shabby yourself. Hey do me a favor, grab the bag over in the right corner and bring it to me. Brandon: Ok. (Brandon walks over and grabs a small luggage bag he then hands it to The Rated R Superstar. Edge looks at the bag with a smile on his face.) Edge: This will complete the look. Brandon: What is it? (Edge: pulls out the World Heavyweight Championship and throws it over his shoulder.) Brandon: Wow where did that come from. Edge: When it was absorbed into the Undisputed title Vince gave it to me for being the longest reigning champion. I always bring it with me for conferences. It looks more traditional then my Rated R title belt. You see when your the head champ you represent your company so look the part you know. Brandon: Oh I see. What about the Rated R title are we bringing that? Edge: Yeah, just put it in this bag. We'll pull it back out for your show tonight. I just wanna look professional for this. (Brandon shakes his head and puts the WWE Championship in the bag and gets ready to head out the door. Brandon is stopped by Edge.) Edge: Just asking what do you think my chances are of coming out the Rumble in one piece? Honestly. (Brandon throws his ICWL title over his shoulder, and shrugs his shoulders turning back to the WWE Champion.) Brandon: You know Adam....I could understand you beating Velvet Sky or just facing Jericho in a street fight but not both man. Honestly, it would be a miracle if you even walk tomorrow night period. Sky is a vicious woman and is hungry, Jericho is just as vicious or more then her. Facing them both I don't think you can do it plus Angelina Love is horribly mad at you. You got a lot to go through champ while I just have to defend my title and go home. Do you think you can handle both people? (Edge thinks for a second. But before he could answer a guard comes up.) Guard: I'm here to escort you guys to the limo. (Both champions make there way to the limo and get in. Still in thought Edge sits in the limo not making a sound. Brandon is on the other side of the limo stretching off his practice match with Edge. the two men stay silent for a while then Edge's phone rings.) Edge: Hello. (Edge seeming stressed out.) Look I can do this I know I can ok. Don't worry about it. We've know each other for a while you know I don't fold under pressure.....(Edge listening to whoever talk on the other line.) Look I have a press conference to go to so I'll call you back when I'm done... Again don't worry about me focus on winning that Rumble ok. (Whom ever it was hangs up before the WWE Champion could say bye. Edge looks even more stressed.) Brandon: I know that was Angelina. Dude what's up with you two? Edge: She is just my friend and is worried. Brandon: Sure. Look the only time a female is that worried is if you know. Edge: No it's nothing like that man really. She just wants me to call it off and focus on Velvet Sky. In the back of my head I'm dealing with that. Brandon: You know Adam you didn't answer my question earlier. Do you think you can beat Sky and Jericho back to back? (Brandon waits as Edge is about to answer. the limo comes to a halt and the driver tells the champions they have arrived.) Edge: No time to answer we got some business to attend to. Brandon: Ok but just know you will truly answer my question. I know you have to go out there and say yes but friend to friend I wanna know your true thoughts as Adam and not Edge. Okay? Edge: Yeah ok now lets do this.
(The American and Canadian Flag is posted firmly on the wall as Brandon and Edge step into the room and cameras flash as both Champions take one second to take in the atmosphere from the press. The Rated R Superstar steps up to the podium. Brandon takes his seat next to Edge and places his title on the table. Edge then gives the media a photo op as he holds the retired World Heavyweight title in the air with great pride.) (Edge looks around as the the camera men are snapping pictures and then put his title on his shoulder. He has a serious face on as he gathers some paper work on the stand.) Edge: I would like to open up the floor questions now. (All of the reporters start to raise there hands. Edge looks around and focuses in on a guy in the back.) Edge: You in the back! (The reporter stands up.) Reporter 1: Edge, I wanna ask first about your history in the WWE Franchise. You missed last years Wrestlemania do to a minor yet sidelining arm injury, how was the time off and how did it change you? (Edge looks at the reporter and smiles.) Edge: My time off was mentally frustrating. I lost the Intercontinental title to Jericho, I missed the Money in the Bank ladder match that I qualified for, I was knocked off my horse. So at the time I was off started to plan and formulate a way to get become WWE Champion and a way to make an impact once I came back i.e. attacking Jericho. Standing here today as the Champion once again face the same problem that I did before and that is either retain the WWE Championship by beating Velvet Sky or risking my career and the chance to main event Wrestlemania by facing the man who put me out last year. (Edge points to a lady in the front row.) Reporter lady: You just mentioned Velvet Sky I want to ask what are your reactions to her words of you being all talk? (Edge shakes his head and grasps his title firmly placing it on his shoulder.) Edge: I would say that I'm not all talk. I'm sure she has a reason to feel good about herself because she beat 14 other top people. But she goes as far as to say that I am nothing to her? She obviously doesn't know who she's dealing with. She had better stay focused on Bret Hart and his crew of flunkeys. (Edge then points at another reporter.) Reporter 2: Velvet Sky is the very first woman in history to ever get a title shot, walking into a historic Royal Rumble how do you feel? And what mark will you two leave on the WWE after this match? Edge: This is for historic for sure. Last years Royal Rumble wasn't as big as this year. Last year we saw John Cena vs The Rock, of course Cena won but you see that wasn't a match at all. It lacked me. But this year you have The Rated R Superstar vs The Beautiful People's Velvet Sky. Now that's history in the making. You see we already left a mark even though the event hasn't happened. The card is historic itself, but to see how the performance is will be historic too. I have no intention of losing in such a atmosphere, I'm not gonna go all the way and say that she is the most difficult person I will ever face because I've faced and beaten better then her, so tomorrow this will be just another chance to shut another contender up. I'll finish it the way I always...Rated R! (The Brunette reporter stands up.) Reporter Lady 2: We heard about Velvet Sky but what about Chris Jericho. Jericho and Edge has been he story for the past year but no one has noticed how personal this has become. What my question is; Why has it come to this? Why is it now that he has decided to come out the shadows? More importantly reports are circulating that Chris Jericho has been seen around the new offices Stephanie and Shane McMahon, what is your reaction to his possible defection? (Edge strokes his beard for a second and looks at Brandon as it appears Brandon is talking to someone on his cell phone. Edge the directs his attention to the reporters.) Edge: Like I said at WWE.com, Jericho follows me, and I do mean around every corner. Jericho has been everywhere I've been for the year of 2009. I've beat him for titles and so has he. He is the first five time Intercontinental Champion but I'm the first man to win all there Championships twice, Jericho feels like he should be where I am but he has never had the chance. The problem with Chris is he had the chance to do what I've done but he is lazy, a slob at what he does. Jericho would rather have this championship handed to him rather then actually winning it. He is very pathetic, it came to this because of he has no drive. Last time I faced Chris was he 2009 Elimination Chamber at Extreme Rules, I personally pinned him what did he do next? Can anyone answer? I'll tell you, He ran to Smackdown and hid there losing one time after another, even losing to the joke Matt Hardy until his contract expired. His contract was never resigned or hell even offered. I don't care about where he has decided to go, I couldn't careless if he's decided to even join the long and dead WCW. To hell with his defection, Shane and Stephanie made the wrong choice if they decided to hire him he's broken goods after Sunday. (The reporter stands up.) Reporter 3: Edge your match Monday was against Raven and Mick Foley. I saw and I think everyonesaw that you lacked a few steps it appears that the leg injury you hid heading into Cyber Sunday has yet again reered it's head. How do you plan wrestling two people with your aggravated leg? (Edge looks at him with a puzzled look on his face then shrugs it off and puts his shades on. The Champ readjusts his title belt and looks at Brandon puzzled too as othmen try to figure out what the reporter is talking about.) Edge: My leg is fine I don't know who told any of you about that. I haven't missed a step at all, Mankind or Mick Foley...or Dude Love if you will was on fire. The TV Champ had a good night I can't say the same for the coward Raven. I really respect Foley for saving my skin. My leg has nothing to do with Monday and has never had anything wrong with it. I said this before, Velvet Sky can talk all she wants and you all can make all the rumors you want but the fact will remain the same I am the Undisputed Champion and will remain that way until I choose to give this title up. (Edge points at one of the reporters as Brandon just now gets off the phone.)Brandon: Yo this has gotta be the last question we got to be at the event tonight, the people are waiting. Edge: Oh man ok last question. (One stands up.) Reporter 4: Who do you think will be the winner of the Rumble Sunday? Edge: I don't care bring them on so I can crush them all as always. I know how Velvet Sky says I dodge having to defend my title but you know what I say? This title will always belong to me. No one and I do mean no one will stop me from going to Wrestlemania again The WWE is still and always will be mine. So with that being said this state address is done. (The Reporters stand up trying to get more questions in but fail as Brandon and Edge make there way to the door as the touch titles together. The scene fades as they we see Edge and Brandon are greeted by two guards. Brandon stops Edge before the scene ends.) Brandon: So Adam you didn't answer my question. I know Edge's answer but as Adam do you think you can do this? (Edge begins to answre as the camera fades to black.) |
