Edge defeated his longtime friend Scott Hall at Starrcade 2009 in a Steel Cage match. Edge defeated a all star list of superstars, ranging from Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, Jeff Jarrett, Mr. Kennedy, Rikishi, and The Rock in a gauntlet match to become number one contender at on the second to final episode of Super Sunday. The match was intense both me traded blows until Scott Hall got too cocky and that lead to his defeat. Edge climbed out the cage and gained the WWE Undisputed Championship making him a two time World Champion. Edge was in rare form that night and embraced the fans which he once claimed gave him the extra bump he needed to win that Steel cage match.
2nd run: SummerSlam August 22nd, 2010-October 4th,2010
Edge defeated his long time rival Kurt Angle and Stacy Kiebler in a huge blockbuster Main Event for at SummerSlam. The match went back and forth with several pinfall attempts were made but Edge preserved and came out yet again as the Champion by pinning the former Champion Kurt Angle. Edge has yet again broken another record by now becoming the first 3 time World Champion.
3rd run-January 30th, 2011-Current
With the WWE Chanmpionship Vacated it would be help on the line in the annual Royal Rumble match. Edge withstood 30 men to become
World Heavyweight Championship:
Super Sunday June 12th 2009-Cyber Sunday October 11th, 2009

Edge defeated his former friend and ally Randy Orton, Hulk Hogan, and Rick Rude to capture The World Heavyweight Championship. Monday Night Raw was forever changed when The McMahons decided to active the World Heavyweight title, the champion would be decided in an Elimination Chamber at Extreme Rules, which Ric Flair won. The following night Randy Orton and Edge plotted to extract the title from the Nature Boy and Randy Orton won it. Edge then decided it was his time to become Champion so he beat the Undertaker and The Rock to become the number one contender. At Super Sunday Orton, Hogan, Rude, and Edge were forced into a impromptu title match. Edge reaped the benefits early on just one week before King of the Ring 2009 gaining his first World title. He would go on to be the longest reigning World Heavyweight Champion in the Franchise's history.

Edge's first reign came in the Elimination Chamber of 2009 at WWE's No way Out Pay Per View. He defeated Chris Jericho, Jeff Hardy, Kane, Raven, and the then champion Christian Cage. Edge popped as entry number four and attacked everyone. The match was so extreme that it put Christian on the sidelines for half a year. Edge was lucky as he got two covers in a row pinning Jeff Hardy who had just hit a twist of fate 15 feet high on Chris Jericho. Both men were knocked out and Edge being the Ultimate Opportunist covered both damaged men.
Edge's second reign came the day after Wrestlemania 2. He made a shocking return to the WWE Franchise after suffering a arm injury by the hands of Chris Jericho. He came back to the newly installed Monday Night Raw and speared Jericho pinning him for his second reign. Edge only held the title for two weeks before dropping it in a championship scramble that he didn't show up to on purpose.

Edge was shocked to his core after losing his World Heavyweight title so he went MIA for about a week before Vince McMahon and Christian called him and brought him back to his senses. Vince at the last minute put the duo in a number one contenders elimination tag match. Edge and Christian pinned both of the Wild Animals and went on to challenge Too Cool for they're tag titles. Edge and Christian then lost it the following week to number one contenders The Wild Animals. For the whole month of November the tag titles switched hands between the two teams until William Regal put the titles up in a ladder match. Edge and Christian were forced to relinquish the titles because Christian had broken his arm during the match. The match ended with both Gary Williams and Edge pulling both titles down at the same time. William Regal took contorl over the titles until the following week where he announced that The Wild Animals win by default because of Christians injury.
